Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, Julie’s facilities are of an extremely high standard. Much time and care has gone into the land management at Empshill, Julie’s home. With 360 acres of grassland to hack round, and with a variety of cross-country fences, Empshill offers riding facilities that are exceptional and varied. Empshill also provides Julie’s horses with their own high quality hay and haylage which is tested by an equine nutritionist.
Facilities Include:
- A well ventilated American Barn which houses twenty-four immaculately kept stables. Julie uses organic, dust free shavings and each stable has its own water feeder.
- Covered Wash Down box with hot and cold water.
- Five-horse covered Horse Walker with rubber flooring.
- Large 70x30 outdoor arena with sand and rubber surface.
- Full set of Show Jumps.
- Beautiful and quiet road hacking around the Cotswold lanes with access to other farms.
- Year round turnout with post and rail fencing.
- 1.2 mile grass gallop using flat land with a steep incline. The gallop has been part of Empshill for years and the ground is well established and maintained.
- An extra barn: including a large stable area that is used for youngstock or horses on box rest. This barn is also used for keeping horseboxes under cover.
- Feed room.
- A large heated tack room with hot and cold running water.
- A separate area rented and leased out for private horse owners which is managed to Julie’s own extremely high standards. This area has its own feed room, tack room, rug room, equipment area and hose pipe.
- Julie is very strict regarding cleanliness and tidiness and makes sure all the stables are cleaned and disinfected once a year to minimise the risk of bugs and viruses.
